Hasty city life mornings (powered by obligations and driven by adjustments)....

First of all I just want to talk about few lines how I got into writing this blog. Yes this is my first blog. And honestly I have never read a blog till the end or do read through long mails completely (including project emailsJ, yeah still surviving!!). Have been always giving the excuse that don’t have time. Let me take a step back, do I really run out of time? Am I really so busy that I am not even able to spend time to read something so that I could at least tell a bed time story to my kid? Literally I am running out of stories and my kid started telling Appa tells only “MOKKAI” stories. So I decided to write something which could prompt me to read. At least expecting to read my own blogs…

A busy day in chennai...

For the past few years my normal day goes like this…

My day starts with an obligation to myself, buying more time to wake up. As soon as I wake up the first thing I do is check messages in my mobile as if the whole world is waiting for me to respond (WhatsApp, Office Inbox, Personal Inbox, SMS, Yammer etc.,), of course there would be few messages that would make you go crazy. Acting as if I did not read those messages will move on, fresh up myself and energize by drinking a cup of tea/coffee. Now that I have gained some energy I am all set to face the real big challenge of waking my kid, I had to wake him in a comforting manner so that his day will be good (in turn ours) and to do this I had to influence myself to drop the age from thirty plus to single digit. Once he wakes up I had to run behind and help him get ready for school and handover to my wife to take it forward. She make him have breakfast and takes him to the school van. Before she comes back I have to take bath and get myself dressed up. Then with a little bit of free advice from my wife would finally agree to eat the breakfast, put the lunch box in my bag, and leave the house worrying about the long journey to office (about thirty five kilometers one way, that daily reminds me my father telling about his journey in cycle to the school during his childhood but in a very good natural environment), traffic and surprises I might have on the way. My first transit starts with a bike ride to a place where I catch Volvo A/C buss, otherwise end up having more adjustments in the travel. On the way either I scold or adjust at least 10 people for being so selfish on road as if I being so modest on road. After the adventurous bike ride my biggest task to find a very good parking spot where my bike will be safe (at least I am convinced to be safer) and I could easily spot it when I come back in the evening. As I park the bike safely, I will be already late to catch the Volvo A/C bus so I almost run over the railway bridge dripping and gasping like an athlete running a hurdles race. I will be able to take calls from the bus if I get into the Volvo A/C bus otherwise it becomes difficult to take project calls from the bus and I had to get excuse for not attending the call. If there are no calls I watch a lot things happening around me, I have witnessed so many interesting incidents viz girl fighting with her boyfriend for being late, fights between husband and wife over a call, boy making fun of his class mate for something happened in the college etc., If I don’t get to watch anything again back to messages in my mobile…every morning goes on like this…I am sure everyone of us will have a similar morning experience in a city…

A very busy schedule isn’t it!!?!! Ok let us get back to our business…Catch you with another interesting blog later!

  3. I was so happy to see this blog written by my husband, in fact I used to worry a lot that my husband doesn't express much of his feelings nor writes something in a diary, but now I am very proud that he has written an autobiography of his one day journey to office such a long process.... Could not even imagine that my husband can express his views in such a good language and wonderful narrations, while reading itself I can get into his shoes hatts off to you man
